This unit was raised on 01 Jan 1963 at Trichur as 55 Kerala Rifle Bn and moved to Alwaye on 01 Jun 1963.  It was   re-designated   as   22 Kerala   Bn NCC with effect from  01  Aug 1964 . The Unit shifted from Aluva to FACT, Eloor (Present location) on 10 May 2011. Lt Col P Rajnarayan is presently the Officer Commanding, since 01 Oct 2016.
