HISTORY

 1 (K) R&V Sqn NCC was raised on 03 Nov 1985 within the campus of  Kerala Agricultural University,  Mannuthy on conversion of 1 (K) Armoured Sqn of Changanachery . On 23 Aug 86, 13 horses joined the Sqn being transferred from RVC Centre and College, Meerut Cantt. The unit was formally inaugurated by Sri P Ramachandran, the then  Governor of Kerala on 20 Dec 86.   On 04 Aug 90, Dr. EG Silas, Hon Vice Chancellor of KAU inaugurated the location of this Sqn near university goat farm. The Sqn shifted to its present location in Oct 1995.
